kdump.service CentOS 7




Looking at /var/log/boot.ini

[FAILED] Failed to start Crash recovery kernel arming.
See 'systemctl status kdump.service' for details.

 

To Disable kdump

# systemctl disable kdump.service

 

To keep kdump and fix, modify crashkernel value in grub

# vi /etc/default/grub

Change the crashkernel value from auto to 128, 256 or 512

GRUB_DISTRIBUTOR="$(sed 's, release .*$,,g' /etc/system-release)"
GRUB_DEFAULT=0
GRUB_DISABLE_SUBMENU=true
GRUB_TERMINAL_OUTPUT="console"

GRUB_DISABLE_RECOVERY="true

Reconfigure grub

# grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg
