Windows Prefetch

The prefetch folder is located in:
C:\Windows\prefetch
Delete the files in the prefetch folder.

To Configure Prefetch, edit the Windows registry:

regedit

Edit the following Regsitry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\PrefetchParameters

In the right-pane, edit “EnablePrefetcher”.
Options:
0 – Disable Prefetch in Windows
1 – Prefetch only Application Lauunch files
2 – Prefetch only Boot files
3 – Prefetch all

Reboot the system for the changes to take effect.
