Software License Management for Windows Server 2008
Usage: slmgr.vbs [ MachineName [User Passwword] ]
MachineName: Name of the remote machine, default is local machine.
Frequently used Options:
-ipk – Install product key (replaces existing key)
-upk – Uninstall product key
-rearm – Reset the licensing status of the machine
Example:
slmgr –rearm
To extend the trial period when it expires, you can reset the licensing status with this command. After typing the command, wait for the pop up Window (Windows Script Host) to appear “Command completed successfully. Please restart the system for the changes to take effect”, click OK, and reboot.
