Netflix DRM Error in Windows 7
How To fix Netflix DRM Date Error in MS Windows 7.
Netflix Digital Rights Management (DRM) Error.
The error description is:
“The date on your computer is set to xx/xx/xxxx, which may be incorrect. Please correct the date on your computer and try again”
The xx/xx/xxxx is the date.
This error occurs when the mspr.hds file is from a previous image, backup, or the file is corrupt.
Delete the mspr.hds file to fix the DRM date error, Netflix will create a new one the next time it’s started.
The mspr.hds file is located in “C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\PlayReady”
The mspr.hds file gets updated when you watch Netflix so it’s safe to delete it to fix the DRM error.

I missed having Netflix functioning properly.
Thanks for the fix. Worked like a charm afterwards.
Thank you!! Never had a problem resolved so quickly…
Outstanding… quick fix is awesome! Thanks.
Sorry, realized that my problem is in Windows Media Center. Invalid Date/Time error still. Can’t fix it. Can’t find any other copies of this file elsewhere, have tried resetting Netflix login info in WMC. My date/time is correct, have tried resetting it, no difference. No problem playing videos in a browser, just not working in WMC.
Thank you, Problem just showed up on my system and this fixed it.
Awesome. It worked. Thanks a lot.
Excellent! Thanks for the help!
I had to unhide the folder to find it. Once you find the folder, go to the task bar above it where it says, “Organize” and click delete. Had a bit of trouble finding where THAT was…hahaha. Thanks everyone for the help, you’re AMAZING!!! =D
Thanks, quick fix after mobo change.
Thanks so much,
Actually Worked
thanks.. worked like a charm. I, like others, just swapped out my motherboard and this error was popping up, despite having my date, time zone and time settings 100% correct. the file was recreated as soon as i refreshed the browser
Worked great, thank you! Anyone know why this error occurs?
I do not have the programdata file on my computer.
What should I do?
It’s hidden, see previous comment to unhide it.

ProgramData is a folder, it’s located on the root of C:\
It’s a hidden folder by default so you have to select “Show hidden files, folder, and drives” on Folder Options ->View, under Advanced settings.
